Behavioral Support Services

Behavioral Support Services (BSS) are an array of services to assist individuals who without such supports are experiencing, or are likely to experience, difficulty at home or in the community as a result of behavioral, social, or emotional issues. These services seek to help understand an individual’s challenging behavior and its function is to develop a Behavior Plan with the primary aim of enhancing the individual’s independence and inclusion in their community. It will make individuals to have meaningful social relationships at home, work, and community.

Behavioral Support Services includes:

  1. Behavioral Assessment – identifies an individual’s challenging behaviors by collecting and reviewing relevant data, discussing the information with the individual’s support team.
  2. Development of a Behavioral Plan
  3. Behavioral Consultation – services that oversee, monitor, and modify the Behavior Plan;
  4. Brief Support Implementation Services – time limited service to provide direct assistance and modeling to families, agency staff, and caregivers so they can independently implement the Behavior Plan.
  5. Brief Support Implementation Services (BSIS); Brief Support Implementation Services – time limited service to provide direct assistance and modeling to families, agency staff, and caregivers so they can independently implement the Behavior Plan.
